This is a summary of the important points to note about the use of Utrogestan 100mg. Please read the Package Leaflet for the full instructions and precautions, warnings and contraindications and always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you.

Utrogestan 100mg should be swallowed whole with a glass of water, and should be taken at bedtime.
Do not take this medicine with food.
Utrogestan 100mg may cause sleepiness therefore it is recommended that you take it at bedtime.
You should take your oestrogen and your Utrogestan as instructed by your doctor and according to the instructions relevant for that particular product.
Your doctor will prescribe the most appropriate dose and schedule for you, so always follow your doctors instructions. There are two recommended regimens:

1. Take two capsules (200mg) daily on days 15 to 26 of your cycle. You will usually experience a withdrawal bleed (similar to your period) after this time.

OR

2. Take one capsule (100mg) daily for days 1-25 of your cycle.  Withdrawal bleeding occurs less frequently with this regimen.

If you have any problems with the withdrawal bleed, your doctor may change the way that you take Utrogestan 100mg. This may help to reduce the amount of withdrawal bleeding.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. Please refer to the package leaflet contained in your pack of Utrogestan 100mg Capsules for the list of possible side effects.
